6 x 8 mm is the everyday oval for rings — the size most oval stones intended for a ring get cut to. It reads clearly as a stone across the finger without standing tall enough to catch on gloves or knitwear, which is why it outsells every larger oval in our ring range.

Every mounting here takes a calibrated 6 x 8 mm oval stone. Slightly smaller stones suit 5 x 7 mm; slightly larger, 7 x 9 mm. Available in sterling silver and 14K gold across a range of ring sizes, in prong and bezel styles.
